Aluminum R2 Parts

These are parts I've gotten from the R2 Builders Group.  These parts will be used in R2-D2 when I build him.  Each picture links to a larger version.

The two central vents.

The two octagons, one goes in front and one in back.

These go under R2's shoulders. 

The two pictures on the top are of two detail pieces that go into R2's shoulders.  The four pictures on the bottom are of R2's shoulders with the detail pieces sitting in place.  Note the ribbing inside the shoulders.  The metal needs cleaning, which is why it's not as shiny as it might be...it's going to be painful to paint it white!

These go on R2's legs, in the center, inside the blue detail area.  One on each leg.  The parts slide apart, as can be seen in the picture.

The tubes that go on R2's legs - one tube and wedge for the two outer legs, and two tubes for the center foot.

These are detail pieces that go on R2's legs.

These are the nuts that hold the hoses to R2's feet.   

These are foot plates.  They attach to the feet.  The nuts above go through the holes.  In general this is just a detail, but it's a nice one.

Metal legs!  WHOO-HOO!

The feet.  The curve is wonderful, I can't see any seams or anything.  Check out that battery box, too!  DAMN!

This is the center foot and center leg.  Again, note the great detail at the base of the foot.

The dataport, which is on the front of the body, near the top.

These go in the front of the battery boxes.

This strip will be the coin slots on R2's front.
